An extraordinary and rare opportunity to see Goncourt Prize winner Laurent Gaudé in the UK. Miguel Bonnefoy has taken France’s literary scene by storm. His first novel Octavio’s Journey was shortlisted for the prestigious Goncourt first novel award. Now, his latest novel Black Sugar has been described by The Irish Times as ‘A beautifully crafted tale of how small loves can grow into the big ones, often quite unexpectedly.’
Fresh and relevant, Miguel is an author worth discovering.
Wednesday 16 May, 6.00pm – London, Beyond Words Festival at the French Institute. Miguel will be in conversation with Daniel Hahn.
Beyond Words brings together French-language writers recently translated into English, English-language writers who have a special connection with France, European writers appearing in translation, as well as translators, musicians, academics, historians, actors and all who are interested in bringing literature to life in other words.
